Palm Bay Public Works Constructs Hurley Blvd Conspan/Bridge
This video shot by the Palm Bay Public Works Dept illustrates the installation of a Conspan drainage structure (bridge) which was designed, permitted, and constructed entirely by Palm Bay Public Dept employees. The project site is Hurley Blvd. in Palm Bay located in MTWCD Canal 19. This structure replaced two 66" diameter metal pipes that were rusted and severely under capacity. This structure provided significant improvements to the stormwater system in the region providing needed capacity and safe passage for vehicles bridging this canal. Once the structure was completed, the road was promptly opened for traffic. The total project cost was $500000 and it was funded entirely by SJRWMD grant funds. No local funding dollars were expended for this project.
