Taxpayers aces up the tab for clay abrasion from acreage fields
In this video, a public works crew removes tons of sediment from a roadside drainage ditch along Maher Road, Royal Oaks, CA. The sediment washed down from a strawberry field after a storm, much of it clogging nearby Carneros Creak. Better soil conservation would save taxpayer money as well as protect the nearby Elkhorn Slough Reserve.
