St Pats Sports Club applied for funding in the 2010 Community Building Partnership. St Pats Cricket Club applied for funding as well. I have combined the grants for this presentation. ST PATRICKS SUTHERLAND CRICKET CLUB $30000.00 was received for: To construct 2 new cricket training nets with synthetic pitch & bowlers run up, at Waratah Oval Complex, Sutherland. The site requires excavation, drainage works, levelling, concreting, laying of synthetic grass, install heavy galvanised posts & chain wire to create cages, fit rubber sides to minimise wear/tear on the cricket ball. Why is the project needed? The project will help address the shortage of cricket training facilities within the Sutherland/Loftus/Yarrawarrah/Bundeena area. Waratah Oval currently has 3 cricket nets that are in need of refurbishment. Building two new nets will increase the capacity of teams to train there by 66%. In season 2009/10 St Patrick's Sutherland fielded 30 cricket teams [20 junior (boys & girls), plus 10 senior teams]. There were not enough nets last season to accommodate all teams for trials, clinics & training sessions. ST PATRICKS SPORTS CLUB SUTHERLAND received $24342.00 for: Replacement of the current aged shipping container with excavation works and construction of a secure storage shed on a concrete slab, which will be extended to provide a safe viewing area to enable seating and tables to be place adjacent to the canteen and sporting fields for spectators and players.
