St. Charles Parish Public Works Update on Bar Screen Cleaners

Every day here in St. Charles Parish, the Public Works Department is working street by street, neighborhood to neighborhood, improving infrastructure, drainage and basic operations. From a constant stream of canal clean outs, to multi-million dollar efforts for levee protection, the Public Works Department has developed a Long Range Master Plan that will tackle over $25 million in improvements over the next two years. Public Works is working to equip every pumping station with Bar Screen Cleaners. The cleaners help to move debris that collects on the bar screens in front of the pump so water can flow freely and pump more efficiently.
